How to Insert Picture from the Scrapbook

Putting Pictures in the Scrapbook and why put them there?

I put pictures in scrapbooks when I want students to create a brochure or newspaper and I don't want them to spend all day looking for a picture.  I find as many as I can and put them in the scrapbook before class starts.  It saves a lot of time and the purpose of my lesson is not for students to search for pictures.

For example:  I want my students to create a brochure on the human body answering the question:  "What would happen if our bodies were unable to use one of our body systems (skeletal, digestive, muscular, circulatory, nervous?)" (to see the whole unit click here)  I went and found a bunch of pictures for them and I want them to get them out of the scrapbook.

Back to Media Center

1. Go to the apple menu in the left hand corner and pull down to the scrapbook.
2.  Find the picture you want in the scrapbook
Go to Edit and pull down to copy.
3.Your Claris works (appleworks) document should be open.  Click on the tool box at the bottom of your document and then click on the Arrow.

You should always be in the "arrow mode" when ever you insert a document.  It will allow you to move the picture where ever you want to,

If you insert a picture in the typing mode the picture will insert where ever your cursor is.

4.Go to Edit and pull down to paste
Your picture is now in the document and you may grab any of the 4black resize boxes in the corner of the picture to resize it.

To move the picture just click  and hold down the mouse in the middle of the picture and move it where you would like.
